This is an ORIENTATION to the 8-week course which begins in March 10th (see details below). The orientation will be ONLINE and covers:
- what to expect from online learning and homework
- how to engage with your facilitators and coaches
- what is active participation during, after and in between webinars
- how to ask questions and get the answers you need
- and so much more...
The Zoom link for the event will be sent prior to the start of ORIENTATION.
THE 8-WEEK COURSE WILL:
- give you a specific roadmap for starting a business
- expose you to subject matter experts such as accountants, lawyers, marketing experts & more
- challenge you to define and be prepared for the best and worst
- help position you to fund your business help you develop the network of resources and peers a business owner needs
- MONDAYS from 6 to 9PM on
March 10th, 2th, 31st, April 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th and May 5th
- Lectures led by WBC Facilitator
- Participants will meet with their coach to get assistance in small groups.

- IN PERSON - participation in the 8-week course is in-person, we are encouraging vaccinations, but they are not required. We will continue implementing other important COVID-19 safety protocols as needed.

Kate Duffy - Author Educator
Kate Duffy has taught Launch U and other business start-up classes since 1993 in Kansas City while serving in various educational roles at area colleges and universities. A writer by training, Ms. Duffy received her M.S. in journalism from the University of Kansas, wrote a monthly careers column for The Kansas City Star for six years and has written four books about employment, including three about employment for people with disabilities. Her last book, Developing Talents: Careers for Individuals with Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism was coauthored with Dr. Temple Grandin and focuses on removing employment barriers for those on the autism spectrum.
